Nick Kaye Joins NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care Board as New Board Member

The NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care Board (ICB) has announced the appointment of Nick Kaye as a new statutory board member. Kaye, a highly experienced local community pharmacist, takes on the role as an ‘Other Ordinary Board’ member, a position similar to that of a non-executive member.

This appointment follows the resignation of Carole Theobald last year, who left her position as an independent non-executive member to focus more on her role as the chief executive for iSight Cornwall.

Nick Kaye, a third-generation pharmacist and current Chair of the National Pharmacy Association, is noted for his extensive national and local experience in pharmacy. His deep professional network and thorough knowledge of the area are expected to significantly contribute to the ICB’s mission. The ICB is tasked with the delivery of integrated health and care services, aiming to make Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly an ideal place for all stages of life.

In his new role, Kaye will also chair the ICB’s Personal Experience, Equity and Prevention Committee and serve on the Quality Workforce and Integrated Care Area Committees. Expressing his enthusiasm about the new position, Kaye said, “It’s an honour to join the ICB. I look forward to using my experience and knowledge to improve health and care services for the people of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.”

The ICB also officially bids farewell to Carole Theobald, acknowledging her dedicated service since the launch of the ICB in July 2022. John Govett, Chair of the ICB, expressed his gratitude to Theobald for her contributions and welcomed Kaye, noting his valuable insight and extensive career experience as beneficial assets to the board. Theobald, who will formally step down on February 8th, reflected on her time at the ICB, highlighting the commitment of health and care organisations to patient-centric services.
