Public Invited to Help Shape Neighbourhood Health Services Across Cornwall

Published On: 27 January 2026Last Updated: 27 January 2026By

Local people across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly are being invited to help shape the future of neighbourhood health and wellbeing services, with a series of public events taking place throughout February and March.

The events are being run by NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly and are designed to give residents, community groups, businesses and local stakeholders the chance to share what works well, what does not, and what could be better when it comes to health and support close to home.

What people say at these sessions will help influence neighbourhood services over the year ahead, with further events planned across Cornwall later in 2026.

Events linked to GP practices

Each event is aimed at people registered with specific GP surgeries. This allows neighbourhood health teams to focus on the needs of each area and learn directly from the people who use local services.

People are encouraged to attend the event linked to their GP practice and to sign up for a workshop, where they can share views in more detail and help shape future plans.

What the NHS says

Susan Bracefield, Acting Chief Executive of NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly, said:

“We know that the best health and wellbeing services are shaped with communities, not for them. These neighbourhood events are about listening to what’s working well, what isn’t, and what’s missing so we can design support that truly reflects people’s lives and local priorities.

I’d really encourage people to come along, share their experiences and help us shape neighbourhood health services for the year ahead.”

Derek Thomas, Place Director for Central Cornwall, added:

“Every neighbourhood is different, and local people understand their communities better than anyone. By taking part, whether through a workshop, a drop in visit or online, residents can help influence how services develop in their own area. This is a genuine opportunity to have your say and help shape health and wellbeing support closer to home.”

Where and when

Lanivet Community Centre
Tuesday 10th February

Michelle Pratley, Strategic Manager and part of the Three Harbours and Bosvena neighbourhood health team, said:

“This is a real chance for people in our area to tell us what matters most to them. We want to hear what works, what’s hard, and what would make a difference locally, and we really encourage people to book onto a workshop and get involved.”

Camborne Wesley Church & Centre

Matt Whiteley, Clinical Director for the North Kerrier neighbourhood health team, said:

Chi Austel

Isles of Scilly
An event for local residents is planned for late March, with further sessions in other locations expected later in the year.

How to take part

People can get involved in several ways:

  • Drop in anytime between 10am and 4pm

  • Take part in an in person workshop from 1pm to 3pm

  • Join an online workshop from 6pm to 7.30pm

A light lunch will be provided, and support with travel is available if needed.

People are strongly encouraged to sign up for a workshop in advance, as this helps sessions run smoothly and gives everyone time to share their views. Drop ins are also welcome on the day.

More information and booking details are available via the Find out more and book for an event page.

Local media, voluntary groups, businesses and partners are also being encouraged to help spread the word and support people to get involved.

Together, local voices can help shape health and wellbeing services in every neighbourhood.
