Let’s Make Penzance Hate Free – Mayor’s Powerful Message at Penzance Pride
Colourful parade and heartfelt words mark Penzance Pride 2025
Penzance was bursting with colour today, Saturday 31st May, as the town came together to celebrate Pride in a show of unity and support. A giant rainbow flag led the way through the streets before arriving at the promenade, where an afternoon of entertainment got underway.
At the head of the procession, Mayor of Penzance Stephen Reynolds opened the celebrations with a message that went beyond the day’s festivities.
Mayor calls for a kinder community
Welcoming the crowd, Stephen said:
“We were the first town in the country to be Plastic Free. I also want this town to be Hate Free. I wish you a brilliant day today at Penzance Pride and long may it continue to be a fixture in our community. Be who you want to be and enjoy the day. Meur Ras!”
His words were met with applause, as the crowd celebrated not just Pride, but the hope of a more inclusive and supportive town for all.
The event continued on the seafront with performances and a festive atmosphere, reflecting the growing importance of Pride as part of the community calendar in Penzance.
