Camborne Staff Go Above and Beyond

Tesco Camborne staff have raised an impressive £10,960.06 for Penlee Lifeboat over the past year, showcasing their dedication to supporting the local community and the life-saving work of the RNLI. Staff at the store organised a range of entertaining fundraising activities, including a three-day dance and an unusual challenge involving a staff member locked in a box, all in the name of raising funds for the Penlee lifeboat station.

Handing Over the Donation

On the day of the handover, store manager Giles Redman and community champion Anita Coleman visited Penlee Lifeboat Station to personally deliver the funds raised. They were greeted by Penlee Coxswain Patch Harvey, who accepted the donation and presented a plaque in recognition of their significant efforts.

“We are very grateful for their amazing result which will help RNLI volunteers continue to save lives at sea,” the team at Penlee Lifeboat expressed, underscoring the impact this donation will have on their mission to save lives.

The Team Behind the Fundraiser

Pictured at the handover event were Janet Madron, Penlee Branch Chairman, Patch Harvey, Coxswain at Penlee, Anita Coleman, Giles Redman, and Eric Taylor, Penlee Fundraising Chairman. Their combined efforts reflect a strong partnership between Tesco Camborne and the local RNLI volunteers.

This generous donation will provide essential support for Penlee’s life-saving volunteers, who are on call to assist those in need at sea. The Tesco Camborne team’s fundraising efforts serve as a powerful example of community support for the RNLI’s mission.
