Meet Redruth’s New PCSO Hitting the Streets This Spring

Published On: 30 January 2026Last Updated: 30 January 2026By

A new Police Community Support Officer has joined the local policing team covering Redruth.

PCSO Symons officially joined Camborne, Pool and Redruth Police in September and has completed 16 weeks of training at police headquarters. She has also spent the past month in tutorship.

Training and next steps

PCSO Symons is currently out and about across the wider sector while completing her training. She is expected to be working independently by April, at which point she will concentrate on Redruth.

A change of career

Before joining the police, PCSO Symons worked as a retail manager. She decided to move into policing as a completely new career, having always wanted to join the police.

Residents may see her around the area over the coming weeks as she continues to build experience before taking up her Redruth-focused role later in the spring.
