RNLI Marks 200th Anniversary with Special Episode of Saving Lives At Sea
As the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) celebrates two centuries of lifesaving efforts, it is set to highlight its historic contributions during World War II in a special episode of Saving Lives At Sea.
The charity, known for its dedicated lifeboat crews and their selfless acts of bravery, will have its remarkable history featured in the first episode of the show’s ninth series.
Scheduled to air at 9pm on Tuesday 12 March, the episode will be broadcast on BBC Two and available on iPlayer. This special edition has been commissioned to commemorate the RNLI’s 200th anniversary, showcasing the pivotal role played by its crews during the tumultuous times of the Second World War.
To enrich the episode with genuine passion and insight, long-time supporter of the RNLI, Dermot O’Leary, steps in as a guest presenter.
