Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service will soon be accepting applications for on-call firefighters in Saltash, giving locals the chance to serve their community in a vital role. If you’ve ever wondered what it takes to join the fire service, now might be the perfect time to find out.

The recruitment window will open on 29th October and remain open until 10th December, providing ample time for interested individuals to apply.

Have a Go Events

For those considering a career as an on-call firefighter, Saltash Community Fire Station is hosting two ‘have a go events’ to give you a first-hand experience of what the role entails. These sessions are designed to offer insights into the duties expected and let you participate in activities that reflect the real-life work of a firefighter.

The events will take place on:

• Saturday, 2nd November at 09:00
• Sunday, 17th November at 09:00

Each session is expected to last approximately three hours. Attendees will have the chance to complete practical tasks and get a feel for what the job involves.
