The Cornish Pirates have bolstered their squad for the upcoming season by signing 21-year-old Cornish lock, Milo Hallam. Born and raised in Cornwall, Milo’s rugby journey began at Falmouth RFC, and his development has been closely followed by the local rugby community.

A Strong Rugby Background

Milo’s impressive rugby career has seen him progress through several reputable institutions, including Truro School and Truro College, before making a significant impact at Exeter University. While at Exeter, Milo played a crucial role in the British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) league, where his team secured two BUCS Championship titles and a league victory. His exceptional performances also earned him a spot in the BUCS University Team of the Season in his final year, underlining his potential and skill.

A Fitting Addition to the Pirates

Cornish Pirates’ joint head coach, Alan Paver, has expressed his confidence in Milo’s abilities and readiness to join the team. Alan highlighted Milo’s previous involvement with the Pirates during pre-seasons, which provided the coaching staff with ample opportunity to assess his progress. Now, at the age of 21, Milo is seen as a mature and seasoned player, ready to contribute to the Pirates’ ambitions for the season ahead.

Milo already made his mark in a recent pre-season friendly against Redruth, where he featured prominently in the Pirates’ victory.

Looking Ahead

Milo Hallam’s signing marks another step in the Cornish Pirates’ strategy to develop homegrown talent, giving young Cornish players the chance to shine on a bigger stage. With his strong rugby background and familiarity with the team, Milo is poised to make a significant impact as the Pirates gear up for a competitive season.
