Leadership and loyalty: Josh signs on for 2025/26

Cornish Pirates lock Josh King has confirmed he will remain with the club for the 2025/26 season, marking his third year in Cornwall.

The Scottish forward, who has become a key figure for the team, has made 42 appearances and scored two tries since arriving at the Mennaye. Josh has also stepped into a leadership role this season, captaining the side on several occasions.

“Loving it down here in Cornwall”

Reflecting on his time in Penzance, Josh said:

“I’m loving it down here in Cornwall and I’m really enjoying playing for such a great club. It’s a real honour to pull on the Pirates jersey every time the opportunity comes, so looking forward to hopefully doing it many more times.”

A standout season

Josh’s ability to play both in the back row and at lock has made him a valuable asset this season, according to Joint Head Coach Alan Paver:

“We are delighted to have Josh on board with us for next year. His versatility to play both in the back row and at lock has been invaluable throughout this season, and his development to call the lineout and his leadership have also been standouts for us.”

With Josh continuing his journey in Cornwall, Pirates fans can look forward to seeing more of the hard-working lock leading from the front in the 2025/26 campaign.
