Prop Alfie Petch Signs with Cornish Pirates for Next Season

The Cornish Pirates have confirmed that Alfie Petch has signed a contract for the 2025/26 season.

Aged 25, Alfie is a former England U20s international who previously made 23 appearances for the Pirates during the 2021/22 season while dual registered with Exeter Chiefs. Since then, he has played for Northampton Saints, Biarritz, and Gloucester. He returned on loan from Gloucester earlier this season and featured in three more matches for the Pirates.

Joint head coach Alan Paver welcomed the news:

“It’s cracking news that Alfie has signed for us. He went away and has done some really good stuff playing in the Premiership either side of a spell in France.

“Although still a young man he has acquired considerable experience, and I am sure that someone of his calibre will be beneficial to help bring on the forwards here.”

Alfie said he was pleased to return to familiar ground:

“Cornwall is my home, so I’m delighted to be back. I’ve loved representing this club before and I’m looking forward to doing it again and bringing my experience to the group. I’m really excited about the squad we’re building and am confident we can have a real go at the Championship next season.”
