In an exciting move for next season, the Cornish Pirates have announced the signing of promising scrum-half Dan Hiscocks.
The Surrey-born 23-year-old, a former Wales U16/18/19s international, brings a wealth of experience from various clubs and is set to make a significant impact on the team.
Early Beginnings and Rugby Journey
Dan Hiscocks started his rugby journey at the tender age of seven with Llandovery. His early passion for the sport saw him play for Brecon and later for the Ospreys under 18s team. His talent and dedication paved the way for a career in senior rugby, where he played for notable clubs including Aberavon, London Welsh, Blackheath, Rosslyn Park, and most recently, Ealing Trailfinders.
Experience and Growth
Dan’s journey through these clubs has provided him with invaluable experience and playing time, crucial for his development as a scrum-half. His transition to the Cornish Pirates is seen as a strategic move to further hone his skills and contribute to the team’s success.
Coach’s Confidence
Cornish Pirates’ joint head coach Gavin Cattle expressed his enthusiasm about Dan’s arrival. “Dan has an excellent mindset, and he still wants to grow his game. He has also experienced useful exposure at Ealing Trailfinders and at Rosslyn Park, getting good minutes under his belt. Impressing also is Dan’s sound all round game, so I am very much looking forward to working with him and helping him to progress still further,” Gavin stated.
This positive endorsement from the coach highlights the club’s belief in Dan’s potential and their commitment to fostering his growth.
The Cornish Pirates and their fans eagerly await the upcoming season, hopeful that Dan Hiscocks’ addition will bring fresh energy and talent to the team.
