Stewart Yetton Commits to Truro City FC as Assistant Manager
Truro City Football Club has officially announced the renewal of Stewart Yetton’s contract, ensuring he remains as the assistant manager. Yetton, the club’s most prolific scorer, has been with Truro City since his transfer from Tiverton Town in 2005. During his tenure, Yetton played a pivotal role in the club’s significant achievements, including four promotions within five seasons and the memorable FA Vase victory at Wembley in 2007, where Truro City defeated AFC Totton with a 3-1 scoreline.
Yetton’s football journey began at Plymouth Argyle in 2003, followed by a notable period at Weymouth after his initial departure from Truro in 2013. He made a return to Truro City in 2017, and after a brief stint back at Tiverton Town for the 2018-19 season, Yetton rejoined Truro City in the summer of 2019, taking on the role of assistant manager under Paul Wotton. This collaboration led to the club securing promotion back to National League South last year after a four-year hiatus, reaffirming their Step Two status.
Expressing his enthusiasm about the new contract, Yetton shared his ease in making the decision to stay, influenced by Wotton’s commitment to the club. He emphasised his excitement for the club’s future, including the move back to a new ground in Truro, highlighting it as a significant moment for both the team and its supporters. With nearly 18 years of association with the club, Yetton considers himself a true Truro fan and looks forward to contributing to its continued success and growth.
