Truro City Reports Record Ticket Sales Ahead of Historic Home Fixtures

Fans urged to act fast as home matches set to sell out

Truro City has reached another landmark in its history-making rise through the non-League ranks, with record individual match ticket sales confirmed on Friday 1st August.

Just weeks after the club smashed its previous record for season ticket sales, Friday’s numbers revealed that 50% of tickets for the first three home league fixtures have already been sold.

Big Names, Big Crowds

John Askey’s side will kick off their debut season at Step One of the non-League pyramid with an away trip to Wealdstone, followed by a National League Cup tie against Southampton.

Truro then returns home for three consecutive Saturday fixtures, starting with a clash against York City on Saturday 16th August. That match has been selected for enhanced coverage by National League broadcast partner DAZN, marking a historic moment for the club. It will be streamed live across the globe, the first time any Cornish club has received this level of exposure from the sports streaming giant, which recently partnered with the FIFA Club World Cup.

The following Saturday, Southend United will visit TR4. The Shrimpers are statistically the best supported club in the division and have previously competed as high as the Championship.

The month of home games ends with a visit from Boston United, managed by former Plymouth Argyle favourite Graham Coughlin. Like York and Southend, Boston have a history in the English Football League.

“Blown Away” by Sales

Truro City’s head of commercial Rob Butland said Friday’s surge in sales had exceeded expectations.

“We were expecting strong ticket sales but today’s results have simply blown us away,” said Rob.

“To record that level of sale in less than 12 hours shows just how engaged the Cornish sporting public are with the club and the incredible journey it finds itself on currently.”

“We have gone from being homeless and without a home, to winning National League South and now playing against some big clubs with rich and successful histories.”

“Given the level of interest today, which has been reflected in a huge number of tickets sold, we are anticipating these games to sell out very quickly.”

“Therefore, we would urge all supporters to buy their tickets quickly, to avoid disappointment.”

With three high-profile home matches on the calendar, Truro City is urging fans to secure their seats as early as possible.
