Truro City Reveals Fresh Branding and Reclaims Original Nickname

Published On: 4 June 2024Last Updated: 4 June 2024By

Truro City has revealed an updated crest ahead of its return to Cornwall in a new playing facility for the 2024-25 season.

The club’s refreshed branding marks a significant shift in its visual identity, as well as a nod to its historical roots.

Updated Crest Features

The new crest sees subtle yet impactful changes to the branding that Truro City has utilised for the past six years. Notably, Truro Cathedral is now depicted in black on a white background, with the St Piran’s flag positioned below the city’s most recognisable landmark. These main aesthetic elements are no longer contained within a shield, allowing them greater prominence than in the previous design.

A Return to Tradition

In a move that reflects its historical connections, Truro City will no longer feature the white tiger on any club crest or associated branding. Consequently, the club has decided to drop the White Tigers moniker, a nickname that lacked historical significance for both the club and the Duchy as a whole.

Instead, Truro City will readopt its original nickname, the Tinners, while also incorporating “City” to highlight its status as Cornwall’s only city club. This change will be reflected across all of the club’s written materials with immediate effect.

Looking Ahead

This new crest is just the beginning of many exciting announcements to come as the club gears up for the upcoming season. Fans can look forward to the return of Football Coming Home, with season tickets set to go on sale this Friday, June 7.
