Truro City Secures Irish Winger Jaze Kabia After Impressive Trial
Truro City has bolstered its squad with the signing of Irish winger Jaze Kabia following a successful trial period. The 24-year-old has committed to a one-year contract and is expected to make an immediate impact as Truro prepares to face Dorking Wanderers in their upcoming fixture.
Kabia’s Journey to Truro City
Jaze Kabia, born in Cork, Ireland, has a diverse footballing background that spans both sides of the Irish Sea. Starting his career with Cobh Ramblers, Kabia then moved on to Shelbourne before making a significant step to Scotland. There, he gained valuable experience in the Scottish Premiership with Livingston. His time in Scotland also saw him go on loan to several clubs, including Falkirk, Morton, and Queen of the South.
In 2023, Kabia returned to Ireland to join Cork City, his hometown club. However, his stint in Ireland was short-lived as he crossed back to Scotland during the winter transfer window to sign with Clyde. After a brief spell at Douglas Park, Kabia departed at the end of the 2023-24 campaign.
Ready for a New Challenge
Kabia impressed Truro City manager John Askey during a recent pre-season friendly against Gloucester City, where he featured in the second half. His performance secured him a permanent spot on the team.
Speaking to Truro City’s official website, Kabia expressed his enthusiasm about joining the club: “I spoke to the manager prior to my trial game and he explained the goals and ambitions of this club. It was great to get the deal over the line and I can’t wait to get started.”
Kabia has been maintaining his fitness levels by training independently and with one of his former clubs, which he believes has prepared him well for the upcoming season. He is eager to adjust to the English game and is looking forward to contributing to Truro City’s campaign.
Looking Ahead to the Season
As Truro City prepares for the upcoming match against Dorking Wanderers, Kabia’s inclusion in the squad adds a new dynamic to the team’s line-up. With his experience in both Irish and Scottish football, Kabia brings a wealth of knowledge and a fresh perspective to the Tinners.
The signing is seen as a strategic move by Truro City, aiming to strengthen their squad with a player who is motivated and ready for a new challenge. As Kabia himself puts it, “It is time for me to kick on, get the first game of the season out the way, and then see where things take me and the club.”
Truro City fans will be eager to see how Kabia adapts to his new surroundings and the impact he will have as the season progresses.
