Tyler Harvey Commits Long-Term Future to Truro City

Truro City has announced a significant boost to its squad with Tyler Harvey signing a new, multi-year contract. The 29-year-old striker, who first made his name with Plymouth Argyle, has firmly committed his future to the club where he has become a central figure.

Harvey, a product of Plymouth Argyle’s youth system, made 50 senior appearances for the Pilgrims before moving to Wrexham in 2016. However, his time at Wrexham was short-lived, and in January 2017, Harvey joined Truro City. Apart from a brief stint at Bath City during the early weeks of the 2019-20 season, he has been a mainstay for Truro ever since.

Proven Goal Scorer and Fan Favourite

Over the years, Tyler Harvey has become a crucial part of Truro City’s success. He has been the club’s leading scorer in each of the past four completed seasons, as well as during the two campaigns that were cut short by the coronavirus pandemic. Notably, Harvey also became the first Truro player to score at the new Truro City Stadium, further cementing his legacy at the club.

In his statement to trurocity.co.uk, Harvey expressed his deep connection to the club and its supporters. “This has been my club and my home for a long time now,” he said, reflecting on his journey with Truro. He highlighted the importance of the new stadium and the opportunity to reconnect with the fans after a challenging period when the team wasn’t playing in Truro.

Interest from Other Clubs Didn’t Sway Decision

During the most recent close-season, Harvey revealed that he had attracted interest from other clubs within the National League. However, after witnessing the record-breaking crowd on the opening day of the season against Dorking, Harvey’s decision to stay was solidified. “This really is the place to be,” he stated, affirming his commitment to Truro City.

John Askey, Truro City’s manager, praised Harvey’s consistent performance and highlighted the importance of his decision to stay with the club. “Since I’ve come in, Tyler has done well, just like he has for many years at the football club. Signing a new deal is reward for all of Tyler’s efforts and it is also reward for the football club that he stays.”

With Harvey’s long-term commitment, Truro City looks set to build on its successes, with the striker playing a pivotal role in the club’s ambitions for the future.
