Experienced Forward Signs Ahead of Truro’s First National League Season

Truro City have confirmed the signing of forward Rekeil Pyke on a one-year deal, with an option to extend, ahead of their debut campaign in the National League.

The 27-year-old arrives after his release from Grimsby Town this summer, becoming Truro’s fifth permanent signing of the window.

Career Journey

Leeds-born Rekeil began his professional career at Huddersfield Town, where he made a single senior appearance. While at the club, he gained experience through loan spells at Colchester, Wrexham, Port Vale, Rochdale and Shrewsbury.

He joined Shrewsbury permanently in 2020 and spent three seasons at the Meadow, including a loan stint at Scunthorpe. In 2023, he made the move to Grimsby Town and also spent time on loan at Eastleigh last season.

Hoping to Make His Mark

Speaking to trurocity.co.uk, Rekeil said:
“It is a pleasure to join the club and I was at Grimsby Town last year. I didn’t play many minutes, but I am hoping to rectify that here. The fans will see a lot of energy, hard work for the team and hopefully I can chip in with a few goals.”

He added:
“I spoke to the manager and it is an exciting time to join the club and I can’t wait to get going. I have played at this level for Wrexham, whilst also playing in League 1 and 2, so hopefully I can bring my experience to Truro, so we can go on a good run.”

“As a team, we will be giving everything to try and achieve something similar to last season. That is the goal for me in every season I play. There is a good togetherness within the group and I am happy to be joining a dressing room like this.”

Truro City’s first-ever National League campaign kicks off this August, and the addition of Rekeil could bring the energy and experience needed to make an impact at the higher level.
