Truro & Penwith College Extends Long-Standing Partnership with Cornish Pirates

In a boost to Cornish sport, Truro and Penwith College has renewed its partnership with the Cornish Pirates for the upcoming 2024/25 season. This enduring relationship, which has lasted for well over a decade, continues to benefit both the College and the professional rugby club, with a shared goal of fostering talent and inspiring the future generation of athletes.

A Partnership Built on Mutual Support

The collaboration between Truro and Penwith College and the Cornish Pirates has been a cornerstone of the club’s success, with the College being a Premier Partner for many years. This partnership is visibly represented at the Mennaye Field in Penzance, where the main grandstand proudly bears the name “Truro & Penwith College Stand”. Additionally, the College’s logo is prominently displayed on the team’s playing shirts, reinforcing the deep ties between the two institutions.

Ross Hancock, Head of Media, Marketing and Commercial at the Cornish Pirates, expressed his appreciation for the College’s continued support. He highlighted the importance of the College’s Penwith campus facilities, which are crucial for the team’s training, especially during the challenging autumn and winter months. “The Cornish Pirates are very grateful for the long-standing support of Truro and Penwith College,” Ross said, acknowledging the significant role the College plays in both education and sports development in Cornwall.

Matt Bond, Head of Marketing and Communications at Truro and Penwith College, echoed this sentiment, emphasising the College’s pride in supporting professional sports in Cornwall.
