Cornwall v Kent

This Saturday, 24th May, the black and gold army is being called to Reduth RFC for what’s being described as a crucial clash in Cornwall’s season. Cornwall face Kent in what organisers are calling “our big one” – a day that could help tip the scales in favour of the home side with the support of a fired-up Cornish crowd.

Gates open at 12 noon, and the organisers are urging supporters to arrive early. With a high turnout expected, there will be no parking available at the ground.

Packed Schedule On and Off the Pitch

It’s more than just a match. Cornwall RFU have lined up a full day of activity, including a special moment for their chosen charity Mike’s Trust, who’ll be receiving a cheque from SUEZ UK on the day. The Trust, founded in memory of Mike, delivers the message “Leave it in the drawer” to schools and communities, aiming to tackle knife crime. Mike had connections to SUEZ UK and his family continue to drive the campaign forward.

Supporters will also get the chance to welcome some of Cornwall’s rugby legends. VIPs for the day include the County Champions of 1999 and players who have represented Cornwall more than 50 times in the black and gold.

A Historic First at HellFire Corner

For the first time at a CRFU match, Kernow Pipes and Drums will bring a traditional battle feel to the game, starting their march from The Miners Arms. Used historically to rally troops and strike fear into the enemy, their presence is hoped to inspire the players and the crowd alike as the tension builds toward kick-off.

Main Event: Cornwall v Kent, Kick-Off 2pm

It all comes down to this. With the match kicking off at 2pm, Cornwall are counting on their supporters to bring the noise and create that electric home advantage.

The call is clear: “The army of black and gold is needed.”

Will you be there?
