St Austell Leisure Centre to Host Free Open Day with a Range of Activities
On Saturday, 2 March, St Austell Leisure Centre, operating under the Better brand and managed by GLL since 2017, is set to welcome both members and non-members to a special Open Day event, offering a variety of sports and fitness activities free of charge. The event aims to encourage the community to engage in physical activities and to inspire attendees to embark on their fitness journey for 2024.
The Open Day is designed to provide a fun and engaging experience, allowing individuals to explore a range of activities including badminton, judo, swimming tuition, group exercise classes, water polo, and synchronised swimming. Jacquelyn Pearce, Assistant Manager at St Austell Leisure Centre, emphasises the day as an opportunity to try new and exciting activities without the financial burden, highlighting the benefits of exercise on overall well-being and marking the event as a perfect kickstart to getting active in the spring season.
The event schedule is packed with activities, starting with a functional fitness class from 9:30 AM to 9:40 AM, followed by sessions in badminton, judo, and swim school lessons. Attendees can also experience synchronised swimming from 1-2 PM and then dive into water polo and sharks’ trials from 2-3 PM.
To ensure a spot in the desired activities, the leisure centre advises interested participants to book in advance, underscoring the event’s anticipated popularity and the centre’s commitment to facilitating community health and fitness.
For more details on the Open Day activities and to secure a booking, individuals are encouraged to visit the St Austell Leisure Centre’s official website or directly access the booking platform.
This event, supported by Cornwall Council and facilitated by GLL, reflects the organisation’s dedication to social and cultural enterprise, aiming to enrich the community’s lifestyle through accessible and diverse fitness options.
