United Downs Raceway in St Day will once again host an action-packed day of thrilling motorsport this Sunday, 27 October 2024, starting at 12 noon. Get ready for a wild mix of fancy dress, caravan mayhem, and banger racing as the Halloween Banger Racing event promises a chaotic day of high-energy entertainment.

Hallowe’en Fancy Dress Parade

The festivities kick off with a special Hallowe’en Fancy Dress Parade, where both drivers and racegoers are invited to show off their spooky attire. Cars will be decorated to match the Halloween theme, making for a colourful start to the event.

The Return of Caravan Chaos

The crowd-favourite Caravan Chaos makes a highly anticipated return after its explosive debut in August. Darren Rundle of Truro took the crown last time by outlasting his competitors in spectacular style, even flying over a static caravan on the start/finish line driven by Dan Curtis of Troon. This Sunday, expect up to half a dozen caravans to be reduced to rubble in a frenzy of destruction.

National Bangers: Judgement Day

The National Bangers – unlimited cc class brings some serious action to the track as drivers compete for the Judgement Day title. Among the favourites is Jimmy Craig of Guildford, the recent winner of the Championship of the World in Ipswich. Craig, alongside fellow Guildford-based driver and fan favourite Jack Reynolds, will be making his track debut at United Downs. Defending champion Jason Moore of Kilmington also returns, determined to hold on to his title.

Cornish Championship Bangers

Local talent is ready to shine in the Cornish Championship for Bangers. Last year’s winner, Tom Shilling of Launceston, will face stiff competition from a strong line-up of challengers. These include Phil Chapman of Redruth, reigning Points Champion Matt Brewer of St Dennis, former Supreme Champion Scott Kendall, and the current Points Championship leader Grant Harris of St Austell. Expect a fierce contest with plenty of spinning action.

Ministox: Tomorrow’s Stars

The event also features the Ministox class, where drivers between 11 and 16 years old will battle it out. Promising young Cornish racers include Caden Clark of Luxulyan, Lexi Crosbie of Stithians, and Amy Williams of Penzance. These young talents are honing their skills, aiming to become the racing stars of the future.

For those attending, this promises to be a high-octane day full of thrills, crashes, and Halloween fun, visit the Autospeed website for more information.
