The Edward Hain Centre for Health and Wellbeing in St Ives has announced a new part-time vacancy for a Community Hub Officer, offering 22.5 hours per week on a 12-month fixed term contract.

This role places the successful candidate at the heart of the Centre’s work, supporting the smooth delivery of a variety of community-focused activities.

Supporting Health and Wellbeing in the Community

The Edward Hain Centre currently runs an engaging programme of health and wellbeing sessions, including one-day clinics, workshops, and regular courses such as yoga, Pilates and a course titled The Art of Sustainable Happiness.

Other activities at the Centre include a weekly Knit & Natter group – described as “exactly as it sounds!” – and a monthly MacMillan Cancer Support and Information session.

Many of these events were established by the current Community Hub Officer, Laura Evans, who is stepping down after securing her “dream job.”

“It was a really difficult decision to leave,” said Laura. “It’s the perfect role for anyone who wants to get involved and give back to their local community.”

A Warm Welcome Awaits

Working closely with volunteers and Centre visitors, the new recruit will report to Centre Manager Sharron Goldingay.

Sharron emphasised the need for a highly organised and practical person, with strong communication skills and a passion for delivering community wellbeing.

“The Community Hub Officer is the warm and welcoming face of the Edward Hain Centre,” said Sharron. “So anyone who’s friendly, thrives in a dynamic environment and has a commitment to excellence, we’d love to hear from them!”

The Centre says it is equally committed to creating a welcoming and supportive workplace for its employees, offering opportunities for professional development and growth within an inclusive and friendly culture.
