Machete, Drugs and a Wanted Man: Wednesday Arrests in St Ives

Two people have been arrested in St Ives after police tracked down a suspect wanted for a serious assault.

Man Arrested for GBH and Drug Offences

On Wednesday morning, officers from the Neighbourhood Support Team successfully located and arrested a man in connection with a serious assault (GBH) that took place in the town last summer. Previous attempts to find him had been unsuccessful, but this time, officers acted swiftly to detain him.

During the arrest, police discovered a large quantity of Class A and B drugs, along with a machete-sized knife. As a result, the man was further arrested for:

🔸 Possession of Class B drugs
🔸 Possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs
🔸 Possession of an offensive weapon

Woman Arrested on Drug Charges

A woman at the same address was also arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

Police: ‘Ongoing Commitment to Community Safety’

St Ives Police confirmed the operation was part of their ongoing efforts to tackle drug-related crime and keep the community safe.

Anyone with information about criminal activity in their area is urged to report it via 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
