St Ives Library Hosts Kate Aimers’ “Living Slow” Exhibition

St Ives Library is currently showcasing the works of ceramicist and illustrator Kate Aimers in an exhibition titled “Living Slow.” This exhibition, marking Kate’s first since graduating with a BA (Hons) in Illustration from Falmouth University in 2020, features a collection of works from the last four years of her career.

“Living Slow” focuses on the beauty of life’s smaller moments and slow rituals, a theme that Kate has meticulously explored through various mediums. The exhibition includes a mix of digital illustrations, handmade pottery, and paper-cut collages, all aimed at highlighting the often-overlooked aspects of daily life. Kate’s artistic approach brings these moments to the forefront, employing bold colour palettes and rich textures to capture the essence of simplicity and appreciation for the mundane, such as enjoying the first sip of coffee in the morning from a cherished mug.

The exhibition is hosted in the Greta Williams Room at St Ives Library and is open to the public during regular library hours. Admission is free, offering visitors a chance to immerse themselves in the calming and reflective world of Kate Aimers’ art.

For those interested in exploring more of Kate’s work, her creations can also be found on Instagram under the handle @grow_and_bloom_studios_. This exhibition not only provides a platform for Kate Aimers to share her artistic journey but also encourages the community to embrace and celebrate the simplicity found in everyday life.
