St Ives Town Council Cornwall has announced temporary road closures to accommodate the annual Feast procession. On Monday, 5th February, key streets in St Ives will be closed to vehicular traffic from 9:00 am to 11:00 am to ensure the safe movement of participants between The Guildhall, St Ia Well, and St Ia Church.

The affected roads include Street-an-Pol, Tregenna Place, High Street, Lifeboat Hill, Wharf Road, Fore Street, The Digey, and Porthmeor Hill. These closures are part of the town’s efforts to preserve the safety and integrity of the procession, a tradition deeply embedded in the local community’s heritage.

Gull Rock Events Limited, in collaboration with trained St Ives Town Council Staff, will oversee the road closure operations. The team is committed to managing the event with minimal disruption to the town’s daily activities, ensuring that the impact on residents and businesses is kept to the lowest possible level. The closures are expected to last for a maximum of 2 hours, allowing for a swift return to normalcy following the event’s conclusion.

Residents and visitors are advised to plan their travel accordingly during these times to avoid any inconvenience. The St Ives Town Council appreciates the community’s understanding and cooperation in facilitating this traditional event, which brings together the town’s residents in a festive and communal spirit.
