St Ives Town Council Welcomes Luke Dimech as New Cornerstone Manager

St Ives Town Council is thrilled to announce the appointment of Luke Dimech as the new Cornerstone Manager, marking a significant step forward for the town’s beloved Cornerstone building.

Luke, who has joined the team, brings a rich background in management and the arts, including his previous role at Cornwall College’s library and learning centre and experience as a training manager. He also holds degrees in photography and professional writing, adding a creative flair to his impressive professional portfolio.

Luke is not just an accomplished professional but also an avid fiction enthusiast. He has penned “The Samurai: Book One of the Samurai Trilogy,” showcasing his passion for storytelling and the written word. This blend of managerial skills and creative talent makes him an ideal fit for the role, poised to enrich the Cornerstone building’s offerings and its significance in the community.

Expressing his vision for the Cornerstone building, Luke stated, “I belong to the warrior, in whom the old ways have joined the new. I aspire to bring a modern edge into the Cornerstone building while preserving its traditional essence, expand its community spirit, and entice a creative following to utilise the building as an inspirational hub”.

Councillor Kirsty Arthur, Chair of Facilities, expressed her enthusiasm about Luke’s appointment: “We are so delighted to have Luke joining us as part of the team. The library and information service has been on an upward trajectory for the past few years, and Luke’s addition is the next step in that journey.” She highlighted the Cornerstone building’s crucial role in the community, hosting vital services like the library and visitor information service. Kirsty is optimistic about the future, eagerly anticipating the innovations Luke will bring to the table.
