New Maize Maze and Sunflower Trail Opens in St Merryn Tomorrow
St Merryn’s brand new summer attraction opens Friday
A brand new maize maze and sunflower trail is opening on Friday 1st August in St Merryn – and it’s unlike anything the area has seen before.
Created for the very first time by the team behind St Merryn Maize Maze & Sunflower Trail, the attraction features a tractor-shaped maize maze and a sunflower trail shaped like a sunflower. It’s been designed as a tribute to the “passion, tradition, and community that keep British farming thriving.”
A tribute to British farming
The creators say the maze and trail are their way of celebrating the hard work of family farms across the country, especially in a year when farming has been a major topic in the news.
As well as offering a fun day out, the maze showcases modern agricultural technology, having been planted using GPS and section control systems, with the help of a local agricultural contractor. Drone photos have captured a bird’s-eye view of the finished design, highlighting the scale and precision of the project.

Food, fun and family games
Visitors can also enjoy a farm-themed game as they explore, designed to be suitable for all ages. There will be coffee and cakes served from The Brew Box and fresh pizza from Rhubarb Pizza’zz available on site.
The attraction will be open daily from 10am to 7pm for just 28 days, and tickets are limited.
You can book tickets and find out more at www.merrynmaizemaze.com.
