Epic Surfing Showdown and Party to Celebrate 140 Years of Milestone Success

Join the Cornish Surf Community at Lusty Glaze for a Massive Birthday Bash

A huge celebration is coming to Lusty Glaze Beach on Saturday, 12th October 2024, as four iconic Cornish organisations mark a total of 140 years in the surfing world. Sharp’s Brewing Co, Carve Magazine, Newquay Boardriders, and Lusty Glaze Beach are teaming up to throw an unforgettable joint birthday party for their combined milestones.

Surf Contest Kicks Off the Day

The celebration will begin at 2pm with the Carve X Sharp’s Offshore Pilsner Tag Team Surf Competition. Organised by Newquay Boardriders, the competition will see surf teams from across Cornwall battling it out at Lusty Glaze Beach. Surf fans can expect to witness some incredible action as teams hit the waves for the chance to claim glory.

Party All Night Long

From 6pm, the party ramps up with the surf contest prizegiving, followed by an epic night of music. DJs Pete Isaac of Jelly Jazz and B Side Social Club from Bude will keep the beats flowing with a mix of funk, soul, breaks, and beats. Throughout the event, partygoers can enjoy stone-baked pizzas and hot and cold drinks, available all day and night.

A Special Celebration for Cornish Surfing

This joint birthday bash is a rare chance for the Cornish surf community to come together. Sharp’s Brewing Co is celebrating its 30th year, Carve Magazine turns 30, Newquay Boardriders mark 55 years, and Lusty Glaze Beach celebrates its 25th anniversary. Steve England, Editor of Carve Magazine, said, “We can hardly believe it’s been 30 years that we’ve been producing and printing the mag… When we heard it was also Sharp’s 30th celebratory year, it just became the no-brainer thing to get us all together.”
