Could Your TV Signal Be Hit in Torpoint? Free Help Available

Published On: 11 September 2025Last Updated: 11 September 2025By

Mobile network services in Torpoint are being upgraded from today, Thursday 11th September 2025, improving speed, performance and coverage. But with the upgrades comes a small chance of interference to television received through an aerial, including Freeview, BT, TalkTalk and YouView.

What to Watch Out For

Residents could notice problems such as blocky images (pixelation), intermittent sound or even loss of signal. Those with cable and satellite TV, such as Sky or Virgin, won’t be affected unless they also watch free to view TV through an aerial.

Interference is more likely for households with weak digital reception, a TV signal booster, or an aerial close to a mobile mast.

Free Support from Restore TV

Free support is available from Restore TV, an independent programme created by Mova (Digital Mobile Spectrum Limited), which is owned by EE, Virgin Media O2, and VodafoneThree.

Restore TV’s role is to ensure people can continue to enjoy free to view TV when mobile services are improved. The programme is overseen by the Coexistence Technical Working Group, chaired by Ofcom.

Ben Roome, CEO of Restore TV, said:
“We know just how important TV is to inform, entertain and provide welcome company. Restore TV exists to ensure we all can continue to access free to view TV as mobile services are improved across the country.

“If you see new TV interference, we’re on hand to help you resolve the issue. We can send a Restore TV filter, free of charge, for you to fit between your aerial lead and TV or set-top box to remove mobile signals and allow you to watch free to view TV as normal. Full instructions are included, and we can provide further advice online and by phone if needed.

“In most instances, fitting the filter will resolve any issues, but if this isn’t the case, we may also be able to arrange a follow-up visit from a Restore TV engineer at no cost, depending on eligibility.”

Extra Help for Vulnerable Residents

The programme offers additional support for people aged 75 or over, those registered blind or partially sighted, and anyone receiving certain benefits, including Personal Independence Payments (PIPs), attendance allowance, constant attendance allowance or War Pensioner’s Mobility Support.

For residents in flats or communal buildings, landlords and property managers can also access support to help resolve problems.
