Budock Vean Hotel & Spa to Host Stay & Gaze Stargazing Weekend

A special stargazing break is coming to Cornwall this spring, with Budock Vean Hotel & Spa hosting a three night Stay & Gaze weekend timed to coincide with the spring equinox.

Running from Thursday 19th to Sunday 22nd March, the event combines guided stargazing experiences with a luxury stay at the four star hotel, set beside the Helford River.

Stargazing at the Spring Equinox

The weekend will be led by astronomer Chris Cooke, who brings more than 25 years of experience. Across three evenings, guests will have guided views of the Moon, planets and constellations using binoculars and telescopes, making the night sky accessible for both beginners and experienced stargazers.

Cornwall’s dark skies provide the backdrop, with the timing of the spring equinox offering a notable moment in the astronomical calendar.

What the Weekend Includes

Guests arrive from 3.00pm on Thursday 19th March, with a welcome cream tea followed by an introductory stargazing session after dinner in the Helford Restaurant.

Friday and Saturday are designed to be relaxed, with time to explore the gardens, riverside walks and spa during the day, followed by evening stargazing sessions. Friday also includes solar observation and guidance on using telescopes. The final night focuses on exploring deeper areas of the night sky.
