Budock Vean Hotel & Spa has launched a new dog-friendly short break designed for guests who want to explore Cornwall with their four-legged companion in tow.

The new Tails & Trails Break is a two-night package set beside the Helford River, combining countryside walks, riverside access and a range of dog-focused extras, with dogs staying free of charge.

A dog-friendly stay by the Helford River

Set within 65 acres of subtropical gardens and woodland, Budock Vean offers direct access to riverside walks, woodland trails and open outdoor space straight from the hotel door. The hotel also has a private foreshore on the Helford River, giving dogs space to roam, paddle and play.

Dogs are treated as guests in their own right, with access to the dog-friendly Conservatory and a stick library for riverside games of fetch. In-room dining is also available without an additional tray charge, allowing guests to dine with their dog if they prefer.

What’s included in the Tails & Trails Break

The two-night package includes accommodation, breakfast each morning and dinner each evening, along with a number of canine extras.

Dogs receive a Harbour Hounds doggy dry robe on arrival, which guests can take home, as well as a welcome gift set containing treats and a toy.

The package also includes:

  • Your dog stays free

  • Harbour Hounds doggy dry robe to keep

  • Doggy welcome gift set

  • Breakfast each morning

  • Dinner each evening

  • Dining with your dog in the Conservatory

  • No tray charge for in-room dining

  • Dog stick library

  • Private foreshore access for dog swims

  • Complimentary membership to the Natural Health Spa

  • Use of the 9-hole or 18-tee golf course

  • Access to the snooker room and two all-weather tennis courts

Prices start from £195 per room, per night, based on two people and one dog sharing. An extra dog can be added for £35, with a maximum of two dogs per stay.

More than just walks

While the break is designed with dogs in mind, human guests also have full access to the hotel’s leisure facilities. These include the Natural Health Spa, indoor swimming pool, Finnish sauna, outdoor hot tub, golf course, tennis courts and snooker room.

The hotel has also joined the South West Coast Path Mile Maker scheme, supporting the maintenance of one mile of the coast path for a full year and encouraging responsible enjoyment of Cornwall’s coastline.

Budock Vean Hotel & Spa is a four-star independent retreat offering hotel rooms, self-catering holiday homes and lodges, along with an on-site restaurant serving modern British cuisine made with Cornish ingredients.
