A30 Closures: What You Need to Know About Traffic Disruptions This Week

Published On: 13 October 2024Last Updated: 13 October 2024By

Overnight Closures Begin on the A30

Starting on Monday, October 14th, there will be overnight closures on the A30 eastbound for up to four nights. These closures will run from 8pm to 6am each night. Drivers will be diverted at Chiverton Junction, taking the A3075 to Goonhavern, before rejoining the A30 at Carland Cross Junction via the B3285. Be sure to allow extra time for your journey and take extra care while driving at night.

Daytime Restrictions at Chiverton Junction

From Monday, October 14 at 9am, lane restrictions will be implemented around Chiverton Junction for the next six to eight weeks. These restrictions, which will run daily from 9:30am to 3:30pm, are part of the ongoing roadworks in the area.

The work is split into two phases:

  1. The first phase will narrow the A390 approach to Chiverton to one lane.
  2. The second phase will restrict the A3075 and B3277 approaches to one lane. There will also be reduced lanes on the roundabout to manage traffic joining or leaving the A30, or accessing local roads.

Through traffic on the new A30 dual carriageway won’t be affected.

Plan Ahead for Future Closures

Looking further ahead, more closures and restrictions are planned. During the week commencing October 21st, there will be night-time closures at Carland Cross Junction and a joint closure with Cornwall Council of part of the A39. The following week, starting October 28th, there will be a full closure of the B3284 north.

Take Extra Care During Roadworks

Whether travelling during the day or at night, motorists are advised to plan their routes carefully and allow extra time for their journeys. Stay safe on the roads, and keep an eye on local updates as these works progress.
