A30 Overnight Closures Begin This Evening – How Will It Affect Your Journey?
Drivers using the A30 and B3284 should prepare for overnight closures and diversions over the coming weeks, with key routes shutting at various times to allow for essential works.
A30 Overnight Closures from This Evening
The A30 between Chiverton and Mitchell will be closed overnight from this evening (Monday, 17th February) to Friday, 21st February between 8pm and 6am. These closures are part of the final phase of verge work and telecommunications upgrades, with diversion routes in place.
B3284 Closures – North and South Affected
- The B3284 north of the A30 will reopen on Friday, 21st February after its overnight closures end.
- The B3284 south of the A30 will fully close from Monday, 24th February for up to four weeks, focusing on roundabout works. Local traffic will be diverted via Allet Lane.
Reopening of the Old A30 – New B3288 and B3285 Routes
The old A30 is set to reopen as the B3288 between Chybucca and Boxheater (near Zelah) over the weekend of Saturday, 1st March and Sunday, 2nd March.
Following this, the realigned old A30 between Carland Cross and Boxheater will fully close from Monday, 3rd March for four weeks for final works. Once completed, it will reopen as a new section of the B3285.
Carland Cross Junction – More Disruptions Expected
Work to complete the Carland Cross junction will continue throughout February, with overnight temporary traffic lights in place from this week. Further overnight closures of the junction are planned for March.
Ongoing A30 Lane Closures
Drivers should also expect 24/7 lane closures on the A30 westbound for verge works, landscaping, and finishing touches. These lane restrictions will remain in place until March.
