A30 Road Closures and Diversions Start Monday – Here’s What You Need to Know
Drivers using the A30 in Cornwall should prepare for major road changes and closures as work continues on the long-awaited upgrade.
Old A30 Becomes the B3288
Over this weekend (Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd March), National Highways: South-West is reopening part of the old A30 between Chybucca and Boxheater under a new name – the B3288.
However, from Monday 3rd March, the realigned old A30 between Carland Cross and Boxheater will be closed for up to five weeks. This section is being completed before reopening as part of the B3285, with diversions in place during the works.
Carland Cross Junction Works
Work on the Carland Cross junction will continue throughout March. Temporary overnight traffic lights are in place this month, followed by overnight closures of the junction later in March.
Lane Closures on the A30
The westbound A30 will continue to see moving 24/7 lane closures for verge work, landscaping, and other finishing touches. These lane closures will continue until the end of March.
B3284 Closure from 24th March
From Monday 24th March, the southern section of the B3284 (south of the new A30) will close fully for up to four weeks while work focuses on the roundabout. Local traffic will be diverted via Allet Lane.
