A390 Overnight Closures – Monday 20th May to to Friday 31st May – between Langarth Park & Ride and the Chiverton Interchange from 7pm until 6am

Starting Monday, 20th May, the A390 will undergo essential overnight closures for roadworks. These closures will affect the section between Langarth Park & Ride and the Chiverton Interchange from 7pm until 6am on weeknights, running until Friday, 31 May. The closures are part of two significant projects aimed at improving the region’s road infrastructure.

Northern Access Road Project

Cornwall Council’s contractor, Cormac, will be conducting surfacing work on the A390 between West Langarth and Threemilestone. This work is in preparation for a planned traffic switch in June, which is a key phase of the Northern Access Road project.

A30 Chiverton to Carland Cross Upgrade

Simultaneously, surfacing and statutory utility work will be performed on the A390 between the Chiverton Interchange and Penstraze. This is part of the broader A30 Chiverton to Carland Cross upgrade project. The aim is to prepare for the opening of the new A30 in June.

Coordinated Efforts to Minimise Disruption

Both sets of roadworks necessitate sections of the A390 to be closed. Cornwall Council has coordinated these efforts to be delivered simultaneously in an attempt to minimise the disruption to road users.

First Service 950 Updates

Additionally, the First service 950 will continue to serve Allet and Shortlanesend for the remainder of the current term. Passengers are advised to use the service 85 into Truro and then transfer to connecting services for Truro College.
