Carland Cross Roadworks Update: Overnight Closures, Diversions, and Upcoming Changes

Published On: 23 October 2024Last Updated: 23 October 2024By

As of Monday, 21st October, there have been overnight closures around Carland Cross, continuing for four nights. National Highways has implemented changes to minimise disruption during these essential roadworks.

Traffic Lights at Carland Cross

Rather than full closures, traffic lights are in place to allow residents to travel between the A39 and the B3285 via the Carland Cross roundabouts. This setup supports ongoing Cornwall Highways work further south on the A39.

  • Eastbound slip road from the A39 to the A30: OPEN
  • Westbound slip road from the A30 to the A39: CLOSED
  • The A30 dual carriageway will stay open as usual during these closures.

Signed diversions are guiding traffic along alternate routes. Remember to follow the signs and allow extra time for your journey.

Upcoming B3284 North Closure

From Monday, 28 October, at 9am, part of the B3284 north link to the Chybucca junction will close for four weeks. This 24/7 closure will not impact the eastbound slip road off the A30 at Chybucca or the route to Shortlanesend south of the A30.

Plan ahead and allow extra time for your journeys during this period.

Additional Roadworks

National Highways has several other works scheduled:

  • 24/7 lane closures are in place on the A30 eastbound to complete verge work, landscaping, and other finishing touches. These closures will occur at various locations along both the eastbound and westbound sections of the A30 over the coming months.
  • Overnight full closures of the A30 eastbound will begin the week commencing 4th November.
  • Chiverton gyratory will experience overnight closures in December.

Please note that closures may change at short notice. You can check for updates on National Highways’ daily closures page or find live travel information on the Traffic England website.

Remember to allow extra time for your journeys and take extra care when driving through these areas at night.
