On Tuesday evening, 9 July, an encampment of travellers moved onto Tremorvah playing fields in Truro. In response, Truro City Council has collaborated with Cornwall Council and the Gypsy and Traveller Liaison Officer from Devon and Cornwall Police to address the situation.

Site Visit and Eviction Notice

Officers from Truro City Council visited the encampment on Thursday, 11th July. During this visit, they met with members of the travelling community and served an eviction notice. The council has confirmed that an agreement has been made for the site to be vacated by Monday morning, 15th July.

Clean-Up Operation

The agreement allows sufficient time for the necessary clean-up operation to be arranged. Once the site has been vacated, efforts will be made to ensure that Tremorvah playing fields are safe and clean for public use again.

I assume the travellers will pay for the clean up.
