Truro Clinic First in Cornwall to Offer Lace AI Pro Hearing Therapy

Published On: 15 January 2026Last Updated: 15 January 2026By

A leading hearing care clinic in Truro has become the first audiology service in Cornwall to offer Lace AI Pro, a new auditory training programme designed to help people hear more clearly in everyday situations.

KM Hearing Solutions, based on Kenwyn Street, is now offering the technology to patients across the county. The programme supports people with hearing loss, auditory processing difficulties, and anyone who struggles to hear clearly in noisy environments.

The clinic’s lead audiologist, Kara Butterworth, brings more than 20 years of experience in audiology training.

Kara said:
“For many people, even with hearing aids, busy restaurants, conversations with soft-spoken family members, or fast talkers can remain difficult. Lace AI Pro aims to change that.

“I used Lace years ago when the training was presented on paper. Today, the technology is far more advanced, but the principle is the same your brain benefits enormously from structured listening exercises.

“Hearing aids help make sounds audible, but auditory training helps the brain make sense of them.”

How Lace AI Pro works

KM Hearing Solutions is currently the only clinic in Cornwall offering this programme. This means people from Truro, Falmouth, Helston, Redruth and further afield now have access to an evidence-based option designed to improve everyday listening.

Rather than focusing only on the ears, Lace AI Pro trains the brain to process sound more effectively. Hearing clarity involves filtering background noise and making sense of speech, not just increasing volume.

Patients use the programme for around 15 minutes a day on a phone, tablet, or computer. It involves a series of clinically proven listening exercises that help the brain relearn how to focus, filter, and decode sound.

Research from multiple international studies has shown improvements in speech understanding, concentration, and confidence in real-life listening situations.

Who the programme is for

Patients report feeling more connected, less fatigued, and better able to follow conversations in noisy environments, which is one of the most common challenges for adults with hearing loss.

The programme can also benefit people with normal hearing who struggle in noisy places or find it difficult to follow rapid speech. It is suitable for those with Auditory Processing Disorder and can be used alongside hearing aids to enhance their overall benefit and support more natural listening.
