Truro Road Closures: Major Gas Pipe Upgrades to Impact City Centre

Business Owners Urged to Plan Ahead as Wales & West Works Continue

Gas pipe upgrades in Truro’s Kenwyn Street area are progressing as scheduled, with a series of road closures and diversions set to take place over the coming weeks. Wales & West Utilities are carrying out the essential work to ensure a reliable gas supply for homes and businesses.

Current and Upcoming Road Closures

Work is ongoing in the Kenwyn Street area, with businesses remaining open as usual. The current traffic management plan is as follows:

  • Until 3rd March:

    • Little Castle Street closed from the junction of Kenwyn Street to the junction of River Street.
    • Kenwyn Street closed from Victoria Square to the junction of Little Castle Street.
  • Between 3rd March & 7th April:

    • Victoria Square closed from the junction of Kenwyn Street to the junction of River Street.
    • St Nicholas Street closed from the junction of Victoria Square to the junction of King Street.
    • River Street closed from the junction of St Nicholas Street to the junction of Castle Street.
    • Work on River Street is expected to be limited to its junction with Victoria Square.
  • Between 31st March & 2nd May:

    • Calenick Street closed from the junction of Kenwyn Street to the junction of Moorfield Car Park.
  • Between 14th April & 2nd May:

    • Infirmary Road closed from the junction of Charles Street to ‘Lysnoweth’.
    • Traffic lights in place on City Road, Charles Street and Calenick Street.

What You Need to Know

Traffic management will be signposted, but businesses and residents should be prepared for potential disruptions. Wales & West Utilities have advised that dates and durations may change depending on engineering progress.
