Truro’s BIG Market Returns to Lemon Quay on 12th April
Truro’s BIG Market is back this Saturday 12th April from 9am to 4pm, promising a full day of creativity, community spirit and support for small, independent businesses in the heart of the city.
Held on the second Saturday of every month, the market is a collaboration between Cornwall Shop Small and Truro Farmers Market, with backing from Truro BID, Truro City Council and Visit Truro.
What to Expect
More than 60 local makers, bakers, designers, producers and creators will line Lemon Quay with a huge range of stalls selling everything from artisan food and drink to handmade jewellery, sustainable fashion, vintage finds and homewares.
A post on the Cornwall Shop Small Facebook page encourages visitors to “JOIN US for a beautiful day in our great little city… for a day full of shop small and eat local love, creativity and community.”
Among the highlights:
-
Live music throughout the day with Joe Hurworth taking to the stage from around 11am for a soulful set, followed by feel-good classics from Steve Panter from around 1pm.
-
A free (by donation) drop-in Easter decoration workshop led by printmaker Clementine Neild in partnership with Cornwall Nourish Hub.
-
Charity partners Shared Lives Southwest and Cornwall Wildlife Trust will also be on hand, helping connect the community.
Shop Local, Support Cornwall
Stalls will feature art, cards, gifts, ceramics, homewares, clothes, jewellery, candles, flowers, plants, food, drink and vintage, giving shoppers the chance to support small Cornish businesses and find something unique this Spring.
As the Facebook post puts it, “BIG love for shopping small and eating local in our great little city of Truro.”
The market also runs an Online Market which updates monthly, allowing people to browse and support the traders even if they can’t make it in person.
