Truro’s St Piran’s Day Parade Returns: Who Will Win the Best Shop Window?
Truro is gearing up for its annual St Piran’s Day Parade, set to take place on Wednesday, 5th March. Organised by Truro Old Cornwall Society and Truro City Council, the event will see businesses, schools, and community groups come together to celebrate Cornwall’s patron saint.
A Day of Celebration in Truro
The day’s festivities will include a shop window competition, a parade, and a free children’s activity pack for families to enjoy. Adding to the atmosphere, Truro Farmers Market will be hosting a special St Piran’s Market on Lemon Quay, offering a range of local produce and goods.
Shop Window Competition: How to Enter
Businesses in Truro are encouraged to take part in the St Piran’s themed shop window competition by creating eye-catching displays. Judging will take place on the morning of 5th March, with Deputy Mayor Sam Rabey and Town Crier Lionel Knight selecting the best display.
The winner will be announced at 1.30pm during the speeches and songs on High Cross, and they will receive a trophy to display in their shop until the end of March.
To enter, businesses need to email Truro City Council to be added to the judging list.
