Two Arrests and a Shoplifter Stopped During Truro Patrols
Regular patrols around Truro on Thursday 6th November led to two arrests and a shoplifter being stopped, according to the city’s Anti-Social Behaviour Officer.
Wanted Men Apprehended
During reassurance patrols, one man was spotted in connection with breaching a restraining order. Police were called, and despite attempts to flee, the man was arrested. The operation involved Truro, Perranporth and Tregony Police, supported by specialist officers from the Devon & Cornwall Police Force Support Group.
Shortly after, the Anti-Social Behaviour Officer was joined by the new city beat manager, PC Holman. Within 20 minutes, they located another man wanted for prison recall. He too tried to flee and hide but was found and taken into custody.
Shoplifter Stopped
On returning to the station, the officer encountered a shoplifter. The goods were retrieved, and the suspect’s details were taken to be dealt with at a later time.
Patrols to Increase Ahead of Festive Season
The officer said these patrols form part of their daily work, a role part-funded by Truro BID and Truro City Council. With the festive period approaching, residents can expect to see an uplift in patrols around the city and are encouraged to stop and say hello.
