Partial Closure Order Issued for Wadebridge Property After ASB Reports
A property in Wadebridge has been made off-limits to visitors following ongoing reports of antisocial behaviour linked to people attending the address.
A three month partial closure order was granted on Monday 2nd February, making it an offence for anyone other than the named residents to enter the property.
Community concerns raised
Police received reports from people living nearby about repeated gatherings at the address. These included visitors under the age of 18, with concerns that a vulnerable tenant was being taken advantage of.
The antisocial behaviour linked to visitors was described as persistent and included suspected drug use, suspected drug dealing, and significant noise disturbances in and around the property.
Police response
Inspector Adam Stonehill from Devon & Cornwall Police said the impact on the community was clear.
Adam said: “It was clear to see the impact that this behaviour was having on the wellbeing and livelihoods of local people.
“Nobody should be made to feel worried, intimidated or unsafe in the area they live, this includes local residents and tenants.
“We take all reports of ASB and suspected exploitation seriously – if any behaviour in your community causes you to feel unsafe or concerned, please report it to us.”
Joint action to secure order
The partial closure order was obtained through joint working between the neighbourhood police team, Devon & Cornwall Police legal team and the local council’s antisocial behaviour team.
