Resurfacing Work Planned on Camel Trail Between Wadebridge and Boscarne
Resurfacing work is due to begin on sections of the Camel Trail between Wadebridge and Boscarne, with temporary closures planned to allow the work to be carried out safely.
The work will start on Monday 2nd February and is scheduled to be completed by Friday 9th March 2026.
When and where the work is happening
The resurfacing will take place along the Camel Trail, covering the stretch from Wadebridge to Boscarne.
Work will be delivered in two phases:
Phase 1: Wadebridge to Bishops Wood
2nd to 13th February and 23rd to 27th February
Phase 2: Bishops Wood to Boscarne
2nd to 9th March
No work will be carried out between 16th and 20th February to avoid disruption during the half term week.
Trail closures and working hours
For safety reasons, sections of the trail will be closed while work is underway. Pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders will not be able to pass through active work sites.
Teams will be on site Monday to Friday between 7.30am and 5pm. The trail will remain open outside these hours and at weekends.
Advance signage will be placed along the trail and at key junctions before closures begin.
What work is being carried out
The resurfacing scheme includes vegetation clearance, edging and sweeping, followed by the laying of a new surface on sections of the trail. The aim is to improve the condition of the route and extend the life of the surface.
Trail users are being asked to take extra care due to potential hazards, including uneven surfaces and the temporary storage of plant and machinery.
Who is delivering the work
The scheme is being delivered by Cormac, a division of Corserv and a Cornwall Council company.
