Big Changes Coming to Rubbish Collections in Mid West Cornwall – Are You Ready?
New Weekly Food Waste Collections Begin March 10th
Residents across Mid West Cornwall, including Camborne, Redruth, Falmouth, Penryn, St Mawes, Truro, Probus, Trispen, Mitchell, Perranporth, St Agnes, and Portreath, will soon see changes to their rubbish and recycling collections. From the week of 10th March, Cornwall Council is introducing weekly food waste collections alongside fortnightly rubbish and recycling collections.
Sign Up for Text Reminders
To help households prepare for the change, residents can sign up for a text message reminder before the new service begins. The deadline to register for this service is 2nd March. Those who sign up will receive a reminder just before the new collection schedule comes into effect. Sign up here: Cornwall Council Sign-Up.
Check Your Collection Schedule
With the updated system, collection days may change. Residents should check:
- Their new collection day
- Whether their first collection from 10th March will be recycling and food waste, or rubbish and food waste
To find out, visit: Cornwall Council My Area.
With these changes fast approaching, households in affected areas are encouraged to stay informed and prepare ahead of the switch.
