Warning in Place Until Wednesday Evening

Cloudy with heavy rain spreading northwards.
Today:
Widely unsettled with persistent rain spreading northwards, this turning heavy at times through the afternoon making for challenging driving conditions. Grey and rather cloudy in any brief drier periods. Windy too with coastal gales possible, but remaining mild. Maximum temperature 15 °C.
Tonight:
Further heavy rain is expected for a time this evening, before clearing overnight. Dry thereafter but staying rather cloudy with further rain arriving from the south by dawn. Winds easing. Minimum temperature 11 °C.
Wednesday:
Rain will swiftly spread northwards, heavy and persistent, especially over higher ground. Turning brighter in the east later, with some late afternoon sunshine possible. Mild, but breezy along the coasts. Maximum temperature 15 °C.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:
Remaining unsettled with further periods of rain, these heavy and persistent for some, interspersed with drier, clearer intervals. Staying breezy, and feeling colder with temperatures returning to average by Friday.
