Stockings for Seals Appeal Launches: Treat Your Favourite Marine Resident this Christmas
The Cornish Seal Sanctuary has kicked off its annual ‘Stockings for Seals’ fundraising appeal, inviting the public to make Christmas special for their resident seals and puffins. The appeal allows donors to support the animals by funding food, toys, and even a new home, with donations ranging from £2 to £20. Every gift helps bring holiday cheer to these animals and supports their care at the sanctuary.
Make a Difference for Seals and Puffins
In addition to ensuring each resident’s Christmas wishes come true, this year’s ‘Stockings for Seals’ also includes a unique twist with the ’12 Days of Christmas Giveaway’. Donors can participate in a festive prize draw running from 9th to 20th December, with prizes including experiences, a cuddly toy seal, and other gifts. For every £5 donation, supporters receive one entry into the giveaway, with daily draws bringing a chance to win special prizes.
“Fancy treating your favourite resident to a very special Christmas present?” the sanctuary’s post asked. From festive snacks to interactive toys, each donation goes directly to making the animals’ Christmas memorable. Every year, the sanctuary’s animal care team holds a Christmas party where the seals and puffins enjoy their presents, surrounded by the festive spirit.
How to Support the Appeal
The Cornish Seal Sanctuary has outlined four different ways supporters can help:
- £2 buys fish and snacks
- £5 provides toys like a ball, surfboard, or hula hoop
- £10 helps cover medical needs like eye and thyroid treatments
- £20 contributes to the development of a new pool for the animals
Supporters can join the Christmas spirit and check out the seals’ ‘Letters to Santa’ on the sanctuary’s Facebook page throughout December. To donate and spread the Christmas cheer, visit the Cornish Seal Sanctuary’s dedicated appeal page here.
Each donation brings a little more joy to the seals and puffins this holiday season, creating cherished moments for the animals and the sanctuary’s team.
