Bodmin Volunteers Tackle Overgrown Flower Bed in the Rain
On 25th September, a group of local volunteers from Bodmin Tidy It Team took on the challenge of clearing a weed-filled flower bed in front of the Westberry Hotel. The team, known as the Bodmin BlueTiTs, worked through the downpour to clean up the area, re-homing two large frogs and spotting a stick insect along the way.
Volunteers Brave the Weather
Led by a dedicated team member, the group included Debs, Andy, Debby, Paul, Trish, and Bob. They spent the day clearing the overgrown space, with help from Cormac, who provided dumpy bags, cones, and managed the plant waste removal.
What’s Next?
The flower bed, while cleared, will need further work to remove the roots entirely. The group is not stopping here, with a litter pick planned for Wednesday 2nd October at 10 a.m. along College Lane. Volunteers are encouraged to come along and help continue the clean-up efforts in the town.
