Camborne Kids Brave the Rain for Tykes on Trikes Fun
Camborne’s fifth annual Tykes on Trikes event brought plenty of smiles to the town centre as children up to the age of ten pedalled through the main street despite the damp weather.
Pedals, Paint and Prizes
Competitors, supported by parents, family and friends, gathered at the Tyacks Hotel for three separate races. Every participant received a goodie bag sponsored by Fonehouse Camborne and Sweets and Treats, while free face painting at the hotel added a splash of colour to the day.
The event was organised by the BID Camborne team, with Cormac loaning road signage and the Cornwall Bicycle Project giving each young rider a voucher for a free bike MOT. Volunteers in fancy dress joined in to add even more fun to the occasion.
“Lots of Smiles and Impressive Cycling”
“We were delighted with the turnout – especially as the weather wasn’t great,” said Samantha Fowler, Chair of BID Camborne.
“There were lots of smiles and some very impressive cycling.
“A huge thank you to the Tyacks Hotel, Fonehouse Camborne, Sweets and Treats, Cormac and the Cornwall Bicycle Project for their sponsorship and all those who volunteered on the day. Their enthusiasm, generosity and commitment helped make this year’s Tykes on Trikes another big success.”
