A Cornwall Cancer Support Group Reaches Out to Lymphoma Patients This Christmas
A support group for people living with Lymphoma is urging anyone struggling over the festive season to reach out.
Help for those finding Christmas tough
Lymphoma Support Group Cornwall says it wants patients, families and carers across Cornwall and beyond to know they do not have to face this time of year alone.
The group’s chairman, Mick Howell, says he understands how difficult diagnosis, treatment and day to day life with cancer can be, and believes having a space to share experiences is invaluable.
One member explained:
‘I’ve been in a much better position mentally since joining the group and meeting others who are dealing with a similar illness to me. The group is very calming for me and have helped me by sharing experiences of treatment but more than anything they all give me hope of a normal life despite my condition not being curable. You can’t get that kind of support from a leaflet or website.’
Emotional and practical support
The group offers emotional support and practical guidance for anyone living with Lymphoma or other blood cancers. They encourage anyone who feels they might benefit to get in touch.
